Ash spewed on towns and cities nearby by the three volcanoes throws normal life out of gear
Volcanoes have erupted on three separate continents in the past few days. In Europe, the continent’s most active volcano Mount Etna erupted on May 21, 2023. Across the Atlantic, Popocatepetl, Mexico's most dangerous active volcano, located 45 miles southeast of Mexico City, has been spewing ash for the past few days. This photo taken on May 23 by the Mexican National Center for Disaster (CENAPRED), shows smoke billowing from the volcano.
In Africa, the Nyamulagira volcano is experiencing an ongoing eruption. Lava spewed forth on May 20 and 21 was visible from the city of Goma, on the Democratic Republic of Congo's border with Rwanda.
